Assignment 1 

  My name is Luanny, and I feel as though my media consumption is mainly twitter. I use it almost on a day to day basis and see it as a modern way to update today's generation on the world. I usually do not like social media like Instagram and Snapchat but when it comes to twitter in my personal opinion it is the easiest way to communicate and to stay on top. Because of the way everyone uses twitter and any other type of social media as a way to escape or even to caught up on news while many people of this generation do not really read the newspaper. This is also the next best thing for today's life and today's technology and how much we have evolved to use social media for everything. Granted it does have its pros and cons as it can be used for the wrong things. As social media is used for celebrities, like John legend, Kim Kardashian and Donald Trump.

  Mass media is used in almost everyones daily lives and for myself I use one social media almost everyday even though it is not the right way to really consume our minds into technology I still see it as easier way for us to access present news. I see it as a way to enjoy express ourselves but to also understand what is going on in our world without losing sight of reality. For example, Florida and other tropical areas had to experience Hurricane Dorian which caused many of them to lose their homes, personal belongings and family members. As a way of grieving for the people that they have lost we used twitter and other social medias as a way to try and help them as much as possible. While others made it more about protecting the US which is the right way to do but also the way it was brought up did not help it. 

  President Donald Trump was interviewed on ABC and stated: "We have to be very careful. Everyone needs totally proper documentation... I don't want to allow people who weren't supposed to be in the Bahamas to come into the United States, including some very bad people." Many people were outraged about the statement he made, because of this it created such a stir that it went to every social media platform which landed its way onto twitter and created an even more stir because now the younger generation saw it. Without social media and how much it has grown for the generation and other generations to come to gave others a reason to finally pay attention to what is going on in this world and what happens around us. 

  How I do I really feel about all of this? Well if I'm being honest here the best thing that did happen for us is technology and social media because of my personal opinion social media has created an even larger platform for protests to become heard for what we believe in. 

If we did not have this type of technology I feel as though we wouldn't have the impact and togetherness that people have created around the world because of social media. Without the development of technology right now we would not be where we are today and we would not have the access to do so many things which include showing others around the world that the television can not and let others fight for our rights or help others when nobody else can.
