Final

My final project is about police brutality. Police brutality in the United States, the unwarranted or excessive and often illegal use of force against civilians by U.S. police officers. Forms of police brutality have ranged from assault and battery (e.g., beatings) to mayhem, torture, and murder. Some broader definitions of police brutality also encompass harassment (including false arrest), intimidation, and verbal abuse, among other forms of mistreatment.
No one asks to be brought into this world. And also no one asks to be taken away from it. Police officers think they have the right to take a life, and they do, but only if it's the right thing to do. Most of the time, when they do, it is the right thing. But on some occasions, officers abuse their power and take matters into their own hands. They don't think about their actions or the consequences that come from it. They just act on impulse, and it shouldn't be this way. There has to be a way to fix this somehow.
This brings me to the #BlackLivesMatterMovement. This movement was created by 3 Radical black organizers in 2013- Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. They created this movement after the death of Trayvon Martin.Black Lives Matter is an ideological and political intervention in a world where Black lives are systematically and intentionally targeted for demise. It is an affirmation of Black folks’ humanity, our contributions to this society, and our resilience in the face of deadly oppression.n 2014, Mike Brown was murdered by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. It was a guttural response to be with our people, our family — in support of the brave and courageous community of Ferguson and St. Louis as they were being brutalized by law enforcement, criticized by media, tear gassed, and pepper sprayed night after night.
Oliver was convicted of murder Tuesday by the same jury for the killing of high school freshman Jordan Edwards, 15. He fired into a car full of teens on April 29 last year, saying he believed it was moving aggressively toward his partner. Oliver was fired by the Balch Springs Police Department just days after the shooting. He faces up to life in prison on the murder conviction. Jurors began deliberating on the sentence Wednesday. "I hope that he gets what he deserves, because he took an innocent life," Wendi Oliver said. "And I feel sorry for what, that he has done to this boy."
